Vinyl attempted to encourage everyone to follow Team Pandeponium on Tumblr, but is not actually very good at doing things like “linking websites,” so here is a general PSA! If you would like to follow Team Pandeponium on Tumblr, here’s where to find us:

I did it. I went to BronyCon. It was last minute and ill-advised, but I went. Thankfully, I did not go on this magical friendship adventure alone. No, I took the fabled Niko with me. Sadly, Chash had to stay at home on the couch (more on that later). So Thursday I packed up my car, drove down to Pandemonium and picked up Niko for what would become a legendary friendship adventure. Continue reading Brony-Con or A Magical Friendship Adventure→
Hello friends, long time no talk! Our competitive scene hasn’t been super exciting recently, being mostly DreamQuest, combo, and Maud, so I haven’t had much to write about. But Vinyl, Sparkle Moneybags, and I are apparently connected on a spiritual level, because this past weekend we decided to make terrible Octavia theme decks for the hell of it, without even consulting each other. So, we might as well write about them, right? Right. Let’s go.
So today, on the last day of the worst month ever (at least if you were in New England), Pandemonium ran its Chaos is Magic event, where everyone got to play two manes. Now, sure, one option for this is to take your baller tournament deck and insert a DJ or a Maud or what have you for value, but where’s the joy in that? For this event, the members of Team Pandeponium went a different direction.
Welcome to another installment of everyone’s favorite article series: Friendship is Tragic. This article is a very special one. You see, our group has a club: The Cutie Mark Crusaders of Regret. It’s an exclusive club with only three members because anymore than that and the bad choices we make might actually start affecting our lives in a very major way. Our group comprises of: Scootalose (Charlotte), Sweetie Bot (Me) and the third member that this article introduces, Appledoom (Greg). Appledoom made the wonderful deck that we are going to go over today: Gravedigger Applejack! (I have been waiting patiently to write this article as it is without a doubt one of my favorite decks). Continue reading Friendship Is Tragic: Necromancy with Applejack Gravedigger→
Welcome to another installment of Friendship Is Tragic. This is the place where all the terrible decisions we have made, and ill conceived decks we have built, live. Today I will be touring a deck that could be, arguably, the very heart of our inspiration. That is right! Today we visit a Cutie Mark Crusaders deck. That terrible mane that is only good at one thing: confronting with Ponyville Banner. However, this deck is not just a one trick pony. It takes a few tips from good ol’ Airquotes and Berry punch (because after that last article how could it be a bad idea?) Continue reading Friendship Is Tragic Primer: Berry Punch Babysits the CMC→
Hey friends, long time no talk! I’ve been not building very exciting decks because of dumb combo stuff and also we’ve been drafting a lot? I guess I made that Bubbly Mare hyperaggro monstrosity, but it’s a monstrosity, so you know.
After the bans, I decided to go to Ponycon, and so I was mostly focused on decks for Ponycon. Under the cut I’ll talk about the modifications Niko and I made to the deck (Dream Quest) and some about my games. And I’ll probably post a picture of my lunch from Sunday because it was an amazing gigantic plate of meat and starch. Are you excited for party times?
I don’t know why I gravitate towards bad cards. I think part of it is that I sincerely hope that there is a reason that card exists, like a Zelda treasure chest you can see but never actually get to. So my latest brush with Stockholm syndrome involves not just a card but a mane. Prior to the release of Cadence, this might have been the very worst mane in the game. However, when Crystal Games came out my Cheesy sense began to tingle. Bad Rarity (as we shall call her) drove up in a van, put a hood over my head, and kidnapped me. And now, just like Noted Speaker (we are never, ever, ever getting back together Twilight), I have Stockholm syndrome.
I’m not going to say this is going to become a regular feature, but it really could, because Friendship is Tragic is the name I’m giving to articles about how me and Vinyl Scratch make terrible choices and shouldn’t be allowed to be friends. And I feel like there is probably a wealth of articles in that. Both of us enjoy going really deep with horrible deck concepts and encouraging the other to do the same. It’s been described by many observers as a trainwreck. That’s also how we describe it. We know what we’re about.
Today, we’re looking at a trainwreck we’re committed to:
