Hello friends! While living in the future as a community playtester stops me from writing as often as I’d like, I’m back on the .horse (heh) to talk about decks! We’ll start with the list of decks from our recent Winter Regional in case you missed them, then I’ll talk about (what else) a new version of Dream Quest I brewed up and the team refined for the occasion.
She’s adorable. She’s awesome. And she is super bad at this game. That’s right. Of course I am talking about Rainbow Dash: Sonic Rainboom. I ended up pulling two of these and trading for one (because I had 5 UR Discord manes…). Everyone was telling me how bad this card was, and basically, that’s like telling me, “make a deck out of this, it’s a really good idea!”. So once again, I ventured down the path of Noted Speaker (seriously though, we are never getting back together). So join me down my twisting path and learn how to optimize this adorable card for minimal benefit!
Hey all! While the people who could actually attend GenCon have been posting tournament reports, I’m going to talk about how we ended up playing what we did. While I wasn’t able to play myself, I was involved heavily in the testing. Magic of friendship, etc.
So, how did it end up like this? Continue reading Good Ol’ Rock: Continentals Deck Testing

The GenCon 2015 MLP CCG tournament was a fluke. I am so angry right now.
Hey everybody. Been a while since I posted anything, for which I feel pretty guilty. Basically, starting with Absolute Discord we’ve been serving as community playtesters for upcoming sets, which is cool but means that it’s kind of hard to get my mind around stuff that isn’t from the future. I hope I’ll have some deck thoughts for you soon.
But! We had our Regional tournament today. I didn’t play since we needed a dedicated judge, so I don’t have personal insights, but you can find the decks below.
Hello friends, long time no talk! Our competitive scene hasn’t been super exciting recently, being mostly DreamQuest, combo, and Maud, so I haven’t had much to write about. But Vinyl, Sparkle Moneybags, and I are apparently connected on a spiritual level, because this past weekend we decided to make terrible Octavia theme decks for the hell of it, without even consulting each other. So, we might as well write about them, right? Right. Let’s go.
I’m still pretty tired after PAX East. I’ll be hopefully writing a longer post about my own experiences there, but I want to get tournament overview and lists out for people now, in case they want them for events happening soon.
Find them below the cut. Continue reading PAX East Harmony Event Top 4 Decklists
aka “Trouble in Paradise: The Princess Cadance and Shining Armor Dual-Mane Deck”
First off, kudos to Enterplay for coming up with the Double-Mane Chaos is Magic format. It not only opened the doors for fun, creative, and quirky deckbuilding, but it gave us all an avenue for expressing our favorite pony pairing fantasies. I mean, besides writing fanfiction.
Having never written pony fanfiction before, I decided to use this one-shot format as an excuse to construct the hottest, steamiest, most innuendo-laden deck I could…
When it comes to deck construction, there’s one very important question that you have to ask yourself: Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Hey guys, I’ve been playing with an updated Crystal Games version of my deck from this post and still enjoying it! CG brought us some neat tools, mostly in Orange (sadly, as I am a Dash player at heart), and some tools that are neat but probably also should not be.
So, revised deck is here, with some notes under the cut!
