I did it. I went to BronyCon. It was last minute and ill-advised, but I went. Thankfully, I did not go on this magical friendship adventure alone. No, I took the fabled Niko with me. Sadly, Chash had to stay at home on the couch (more on that later). So Thursday I packed up my car, drove down to Pandemonium and picked up Niko for what would become a legendary friendship adventure. Continue reading Brony-Con or A Magical Friendship Adventure
Hey all! While the people who could actually attend GenCon have been posting tournament reports, I’m going to talk about how we ended up playing what we did. While I wasn’t able to play myself, I was involved heavily in the testing. Magic of friendship, etc.
So, how did it end up like this? Continue reading Good Ol’ Rock: Continentals Deck Testing
Three of us from Team Pandeponium made it to Gencon this year, so you’ll get three tournament reports, each incompetent and frustratingly unhelpful in its own way. Mine will focus on how I am terrible at life and former Continental Champ and all-around good dude Nation Morath had to talk me down from lying down in the street and dying via Facebook. Also I’ll throw some stuff in about my match ups, probably? You know, whatever we feel like doing. It’s a process.

The GenCon 2015 MLP CCG tournament was a fluke. I am so angry right now.
Wooo Doggy, I took first place in regionals? The same person who made a Noted Speaker Deck and a shipping fan fic deck? Ya’ll better step up that game. Not really. Everyone there had some good decks (Especially Johnny, who I will be talking about a lot because I fear his deck and what it will become). I guess this means I get to name my deck hu? Hmmm, It’s got my PFF Nightmare Moon in it (seriously, we are BFFs), and Maud soooo, Nightmare Maud? Sounds good. Onwards to the primer! Continue reading Deck Primer: Radical Regionals
Hey everybody. Been a while since I posted anything, for which I feel pretty guilty. Basically, starting with Absolute Discord we’ve been serving as community playtesters for upcoming sets, which is cool but means that it’s kind of hard to get my mind around stuff that isn’t from the future. I hope I’ll have some deck thoughts for you soon.
But! We had our Regional tournament today. I didn’t play since we needed a dedicated judge, so I don’t have personal insights, but you can find the decks below.
Welcome back to our page after the groups long hiatus. We have been doing top secret pony related things that we cannot tell you about! However, we are back now and so is a new set. That means, you, like us, can spend unreasonable amounts of money on adorable pieces of cardboard that let you play an abstract game about friendship narrated by colorful talking horses. Yay! Continue reading Absolute Discord: I Really Like Your Mane
Hello friends, long time no talk! Our competitive scene hasn’t been super exciting recently, being mostly DreamQuest, combo, and Maud, so I haven’t had much to write about. But Vinyl, Sparkle Moneybags, and I are apparently connected on a spiritual level, because this past weekend we decided to make terrible Octavia theme decks for the hell of it, without even consulting each other. So, we might as well write about them, right? Right. Let’s go.
So, Bubbly Mare. How weird is this card, right?
I’m not being facetious here, this card is super, super weird. I briefly mentioned that I’d been playing around with Bubbly Mare hyper-aggro in an earlier post; Airquotes also did some stuff with it. And it’s weird.
Let’s talk about that.
I’m still pretty tired after PAX East. I’ll be hopefully writing a longer post about my own experiences there, but I want to get tournament overview and lists out for people now, in case they want them for events happening soon.
Find them below the cut. Continue reading PAX East Harmony Event Top 4 Decklists
